Tyrone JonesTyrone Jones was a dominant player in the Canadian Football League and was a fan favourite for the 9 years that this fierce linebacker played. Beginning in 1983 Ty played for 8 years with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers: 1983 - 1987, 1989 - 1991. Ty played 1 game for the NFL Phoenix Cardinals in 1988 , 1 season with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 1992 and 1 year with the BC Lions in 1993.

What Cancer Cannot Do
Cancer is so limited, It cannot cripple love, It cannot shatter hope, It cannot corrode faith, It cannot destroy peace, It cannot kill friendship, It cannot suppress memories, It cannot silence courage, It cannot invade the soul, It cannot steal eternal life, It cannot conquer the spirit.

Ty was the best rush-backer in the CFL. A blast to watch, and he was a winner.
Very sad when Ty past away, my memories as a student season ticket holder have
Ty, James Wild West and Greg Battle all doing a sack dance on the other teams
quarter back.
Brent Waruk  - He turned me BLUE   |2009-08-25 08:05:47
I moved from Saskatchewan to Winnipeg in 1985, and because I loved the CFL (a
Rider fan at the time) I would go to Bomber games all the time, and eventually
got season tickets. Most Rider fans stay Rider fans for life, but because of
Tyrone Jones I eventually turned into a Blue Bomber fan. The more I watched Ty
and James West, the more the green faded and the Blue and Gold took over
completely. I am now a true Blue fan, and it's all because of Tyrone. I loved
watching him play. There was no one like him, and will never be. So much fun to
watch.
Thanks Tyrone

My condolences to the family. I used to work for my cousin Ty when he had a
restaurant in St. Marys. He was very hands on and attentive to what his
customers wanted. We were always inundated with the Navy crowd.

We can never
take people for granted and never forget to say "I love you" to our
loved ones.

Miss you Cousin Ty!
